The Sip of the Summer
Looking for your signature summer cocktail?
Meet the Hugo Spritz-gria - a bright, floral pitcher cocktail featuring Albariño, elderflower liqueur, fresh lime, mint, and sparkling water.
Refreshing enough for backyard parties. Elegant enough for your next dinner gathering.
Here’s how to make it!
Ingredients
1 bottle (750 ml) crisp Albariño
8 oz elderflower liqueur
4 oz dry gin
6 oz fresh lime juice
4 oz mint syrup
8 oz sparkling water or club soda (added just before serving)
Garnish
Lime pinwheel slices
Fresh mint leaves
Optional Garnish
Edible flowers
Cucumber ribbons
Frozen grapes instead of ice cubes
Hugo Spritz-gria
(8–10 servings)
Method:
In a large pitcher, combine the wine, elderflower liqueur, gin, lime juice, and mint simple syrup.
Refrigerate the mix up to 24 hours ahead of time.
Just before serving, add the sparkling water and stir gently.
Serve over ice or frozen grapes.
Optionally garnish with mint leaves or edible flowers
Enhance Your Spritz:
Use a dry sparkling rosé instead of club soda for a more festive version.
Add a few thin slices of fresh ginger while it infuses.
Finish each glass with a light mist of lemon peel oils by twisting a peel over the drink.
Freeze edible flowers into ice cubes for an elegant presentation.
Batch for a Party (about 20 servings):
2 bottles (1,500 ml) crisp Albariño
16 oz elderflower liqueur (2 cups)
8 oz dry gin (1 cup)
12 oz fresh lime juice (1½ cups)
8 oz mint syrup (1 cup)
16 oz sparkling water or club soda (2 cups), added just before serving
